News, PDF Association news

Deutsche Version

Welcome to the brand new PDF Association website.

This comprehensive  relaunch has a modern and user-friendly interface and significant new features for stakeholders and visitors alike!

New feature: editorial recognition

The new site provides each member organization and individuals working for that member a platform for recognizing their contributions to the community. By authoring or contributing to articles, news posts, events, publications, videos, case-studies and more, each PDF Association member can leverage pdfa.org to present their own expertise, capabilities and thought-leadership.

For example, take a look at Dietrich von Seggern's profile, in which he receives credit for various contributions to the community.

New feature: member highlighting

The new home page now includes prominent areas highlighting member news and events. The member list may now be filtered by product sector in addition to member type.

The members' products interface is completely overhauled with new baseline categorizations. Product listings will be expanded over time with new taxonomies to reflect the true breadth and depth of PDF Association members' offerings.

New feature: digest pages

pdfa.org services individuals and organizations with diverse interests. To better accommodate the needs of different types of site visitors the new site provides "digest" features that draw together items of interest to:

  • German speakers
  • Developers
  • Industry marketers
  • End users

New feature: community pages

The PDF Association now recognizes its working groups on the website, providing credit to members who step up to take leadership roles within the organization. As the year progresses we will continue to enhance these pages with new features, including direct access to members-only intranet and Jira-based resources.

Improvements to existing features

PDF Association members will appreciate the following changes as compared to the previous site:

  • An all-new taxonomic model and editing system allows us to provide much deeper and richer categorization of members, products, articles and more. Just as important, we can now readily expand the model based on member inquiries and requests - and members can easily provide updated information using simple forms.
  • News streams (Industry, Members and Association news) are merged, but subcategories of news are easily distinguished.
  • Publications are now reorganized as "Resources". Organizations and individuals that contribute to the development of PDF Association resources are now recognized for their efforts.

The staff of the PDF Association hope that our members take full advantage of the new site to promote their companies, products and services, participate in working groups and benefit from other community activities.

All the best to you in 2019!
